This review is a bit late but better “late than never” – HA! So, this was my mate’s FIRST cruise and my 4th. We truly lucked out by booking 1 month prior to the actual cruise and got a great deal. One of the best parts was, we got a FREE upgrade to a room w/ a balcony and since you will be leaving from Venice, Italy – a balcony is REQUIRED to really enjoy the start of this cruise.
Be sure to click on the video at the end / below to see what I am referring to. So please, if you are one of the fortunate souls to take this amazing cruise, be sure to watch this video. Now, details about the cruise.
Email Me w/ any questions, I’m always willing to help…
First, since this was my mates first cruise, I was nervous of him becoming “sea sick” but we did the usual patches behind the ears and have to tell you, the waters along the Adriatic Sea were SO CALM during middle of October. At no time did you ever feel the ship rock / or move a lot. Which was in great contrast to my Alaska 2013 trip.
Secondly, the ship itself is of the old school style and this we loved. It has a wonderful promenade on deck 7 where many of the newer ships are going away from this style. The pool area is wonderful and if you walk / take elevator up to deck 12, there is a totally “quiet” zone where it’s peacful and not much noise.
Thirdly, this cruise visits some amazing ports. You get to see 2 parts of Croatia, Athens (Piraeus), and a port in Turkey which aint bad. I will be posting ideas of what to do at each port individually and you will be able to click for those pages far below. So, as promised, please be sure to watch my video of us leaving Venice, Italy at the start of our Cruise.
So all in all, this was the most amazing cruise. And my one final word of advice, wake up early when the ship has arrived to Greece and have breakfast outside on deck. The sunrise over Athens is PRETTY AMAZING, but then again, I find almost all of my trips amazing.
